While flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport to Beijing, contact was lost with Malaysia Airlines Flight 370. The plane supposedly mysteriously disappeared in the China Sea, although the search has extended into the Indian Ocean. The plane has yet to be found. A few months later, another flight from Beijing also went missing in the same area.
May 13th
Wreckage of one of Christopher Columbus' ships, the Santa Maria, was discovered off the coast of Haiti. Later proven to be a 17th or 18th century ship.
The New World Trade center building is opened 13 years after the 9/11 attacks
