Kim Dae Jung (President of South Korea) and Kim Jung-Il (President of North Korea) meet for the very first inner-Korea summit. They both sign a peace accord which ends a long period of antagonism between the two countries. The accord repleaces the 1953 cease-fire, and the two countries agreed to work together and assist each other in times of need.
October 5th
Slobodan Milosevic, the Yugoslavic president is forced to resign after the Bulldozer Revolution.
