History and Me

I was born on March 31, 1996. While that was happening, a NASA mission was coming to a close. It was known as the 16th Atlantis mission, which was launched on March 22nd From the Kennedy Center Launch Pad 39B. The crew, composed of Kevin P. Chilton, Richard A. Searfoss, Ronald M. Sega, Michael R. Clifford, and Linda M. Godwin, was charged with bringing Shannon Lucid to the Russian Space Station Mir to replace NormThagard. The spcaecraft orbited Earth 145 times before landing at Edwards Airforce Base on March 31st.
